Job Title: Head of Security Location: London Salary: £35,000 + per annum Start Date: T.B.A. First Security (Guards) Limited is London’s Largest, Independently owned Provider of high calibre security personnel and “front of house” Receptionists. Job Purpose

Responsible for delivering a professionally managed security service to the site, ensuring each security supervisor and officer is aware, competent and trained in their operational duties. Ensuring the security teams endorse and support all interests of public safety and security for life, property and premises including prevention loss, waste and deterrence of criminal activity.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the Schools Security Supervisors, day and night Mobile Security teams, Security Reception and Control Room operations

Plan short/medium and long term security strategy plans and provide an effective set of statistics that represent Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual performance trends, incidents, maintenance faults and to proactively seek system improvements

Work together with Security Supervisors and administrators to ensure that in-house and contracted services are fully supervised and all work / patrols are inspected, audited and recorded

Oversee the management of security provision and direction for Vip and major events requiring Close Protection duties including liaison with diplomatic and royal protection agencies

Liaising and meeting with student bodies, Police and specialist counter-terrorism units, council representatives and local businesses on social and community crime issues

Track and monitor all Security, Access Control and Fire related expenditure to ensure it remains within budget

Take responsibility for updating the facilities departments Major Incident Plan and Emergency Evacuation procedures and coordinating risk analysis.

Conduct appraisals and personal reviews, training and development, coaching and performance management

Organise and attend management and Operational meetings

Knowledge and qualifications

Applicants must posses the following to apply for this job:

• Security Management qualification ideally NVQ level 3 minimum or university degree (Security and Risk management related).
• Valid sia licence
• Health and safety Qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH or equivalent. First Aid (desirable)
• Experience of access control, incident reporting and fire alarm systems
• Contract Management experience
• Experience with VIP and close protection operations, covert and counter – Surveillance methodology.
• An understanding of English criminal law.
• Knowledge of Personnel, Escort and Resident Security.

Skills and Experience

• Line management supervisory experience in this discipline, with sound staff skills.
• Competent IT skills
• Able to prepare spreadsheets and present performance trends
• Comfortable with presentations
• Dealing with people at all levels of authority as well as people from diverse cultural ethnic Backgrounds.
• Experience of working in education is an advantage.
• Good written and presentation skills.
• Must have good customer service skills and be interpersonal with a can do attitude.
• Be able to work well under pressure and on own initiative.
