I have used the Sig 552 with folding stock and M4 both 14" barrel and 11" barrel (current use), AK47, HK 53 and the M4 is by far and away the best option.

7.62 is the way to go in iraq,i had the fn and then switched to the g3,such a lovely weapon

if in danger from longer distances and out in the open ambushes i would not feel comfortable with anything less than a 7,62

The 5.56 is effective and accurate out to 500m but I still think that 7.62x51 is the kit and it definately seems to be back in fashion.

I li8ke 7.62, but prefer the Russian variety to the Nato version. The drawback with the russian version is that the cartridge is not as accurate over longer ranges as the nato, but for shorter ranges I personally believe it's better.
