Sorry, here comes the sad instructor in me! It takes a MINIMUM of 3000 reps of any action before it starts to become muscle memory! So ditch the sidearm

As the original poster has already stated, this is for a Government organisation so just ditching the side arm isn't an option (policy and all that). How about if something happens and a vehicle is disabled, the driver then would not just be a driver and might be a third wheel without a firearm.

Thanks ASE, but it's not me that is looking for the shoulder holster, I'm just a contributor to post.

Just a suggestion for others who may actually have decision making duties. I realize that cross draw holsters have been out of "vogue" for some time, but so have shoulder holsters. Moving the weapon from cross draw (for the driver) to strong side hip (while on foot) is fairly quick and easy with paddle style holsters. It's also much easier to access than a shoulder holster, especially in low/medium threat environments. It takes very little additional training to reach for your waistband in front as opposed to your side.

Hi Guys
Having been issued with shoulder holsters for revolvers and semi autos since the late seventies I have to say that I have always handed them back unused mainly because they are hard to conceal in civies (the ones I had were always upright). My preference has been no holster but operationally on CP always used an inside trousers holster. I have never lost or dropped a firearm except once when a Walther PP slipped down the inside of my trousers and into my Cowboy boot (well it was the Seventies) If you are confident and efficient with a firearm your Principal should come to no harm from you. Keep your powder dry TommyS |
