co19 will become famous soon enough
The last course I did in August had not recieved their results in early October, not good enough really, hopefully they have sorted their admin out.

The Surveillance course in November had not recieved their results by early January when I last had a phone call from one of the tutors. The surveillance course is a good course, the admin staff and Director of Training just need to sort their admin out.

Its probably not just Task but its nessasary to ask and demand results within a few weeks of any training course.

It could be a brilliant course if they put more of their profits into the CP course and changed the accomodation to a better standard. All the good instuctors have left or leaving this month so they are obviously a little concerned for the future. By February/March they should be instructorless so if their are good instructors out their, maybe negoitaite a good deal with them, but don'y hold your breath on the pay.

They were very good. Even for work. I did a job for them in 98 and was getting 245 a day which 10 years ago was great. Yes since then they have gone down hill, and the only person i knew on my refresher was Gordon L. Unfortunately and its only a percentage but training companies are getting worse. Personally if it was me now, i would do the cheapest course, get the licence and get some work. Its rare that what you learn will be the drills that you use on your first job. The basics maybe there but the majority of drills change with each job and client.

Gordon Lilly has now got his own company, Gordon was basically a driving instructor in the police for 28 years. He is a nice bloke though and rung me up a few months ago to assist on one of his CP courses which I was unable to do.

Gordon won an excellent contract to train the Met Police civilian drivers of which there are around 70 in cp, that after they had done the police advanced course and anti hijack course, and first aid course, in all the police paid for 11 weeks of training for them. Their pay is awful though.

Once you have completed it get your CV banged into the the big names, ie:
1) Greymans
2) Quest (Pm me about this one as it is old school boys network)
3) Inkermans
4) CRG
5) Aegis
6) Amicus Mentor

I have deliberately not mentioned the hostile guys as they are Ok if you want low wages and high risk. A Ronin graduate can do better and probably will.....and no I'm not, I did Phoenix
I wouldnt put Inkerman in the leauge of CRG, Aegis etc, they are a small backstreet outfit with a reputation for bungling ans slack drills in Ashford. 5 blokes+dog type outfit. There are some great training providers that the big hitters like CRG, armour, Aegis etc take guys straight from, but stick to the main companies and avoid the smaller ones.

I thought I would post this here, another brick wall I hit today... I have applied for my CDL (Career Development Loan) only to have it returned yestersay.
A covering letter explained that the LSC number from the company I chosen to do my training with had expried back in August 2007, being its now February you think they would have noticed!

I telephoned the company in question, explaining the information I was given from the CDL provider and the information I had received from the LSC.... only to be told it wasnt their fault it was the LSC fault for not informing them!! This is before I have even got on the course... alarm bells are ringing already. Surely companies should know when their membership expires, isnt that just bad practice and bad office admin..??? I was promised a telephone call back - which I did not receive I had to ring them back chasing it.

So now my course has been put back another month whilst the paper work has to be sorted out for the LSC membership... As you can imagine I am none too pleased..

Hello Il jump on the bandwagon here and declare firstly I am a Greymans Instructor. So I am biased. I have also been an instructor for task and still have students ringing me to say they have not had their results from the November Surveillance course which I think is pretty shoddy. Also according to the task website and people on this forum task is running a surveillance course in early March. No one told me. Time to do a reccee would have been nice or maybe now that greymans use me task has binned me and no one has told me.

I thought Inkerman had bought out task?
stay safe

mid wales calling is on a distinguished road
Hi guys,
I too am newish to the forum, so please bear with me
I too am looking for a good training provider for a CP course. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Si, one thing I can tell you, even though I havnt done a course....... I booked onto a course last August, with what the guy said was gaurenteed work afterwards. Once the money had been paid for the course, I heard very little from them, kept having the course dates moved etc and generally messed about.
I then rang and emailed and explained I wanted to cancel the course due to being messed about and wanted to go with another provider......needless to say I am still wating for the refund of my fees, which were £4500. The company is called black-ops.
If anyone has any info on these guys I would appreciate it, or if you have heard of anyone who has worked for them.
But my advice after being left £4500 lighter is stay away from them.
