sorry to hear about your unfortunate experiences mate.... that sucks big time.

We run a HECPO course in conjunction with Regal Security Training | Close Protection Training in the UK. Regals side give us the level 3 C&G and we cap it off over here in Serbia with the firearms training. its good stuff instructed by pros with lots of operational experience. Good prices too. Give us a call if you need more info or contact Brummie Lees at Regal.

I would look at the possible contacts you can make on a course and what operational experience the instructors have.

I would stay away from any course that has 100% pass rate.

Ask for past course reports.

Derrick. An interesting comment about not trusting people with a 100% pass rate. Longmoor are very proud of the fact that we have 100% pass rate from external envigilation. The reason for this is simple, we will only ever book a max of 12 people on our courses, more often we only ever have 8 people on the course. This way our instructors are able to spend more time with students in the evening ensuring that they are fully prepared for the exam. By adopting this approach we are able also able to maintain a high standard of course graduate.

We are not allowed to envigilate our own exams and therefore have to pay for an external person. We are happy with this as it avoids our instructors telling students the answer.

Just completed the Longmoor Course and it rocks - all elements of the course were well covered and the tactical firearms was professional and relevant. Having done Police firearms, I wasn't sure what to expect with a private company but the ex-RMP guys know their stuff. Some of the team who had never touched a weapon easily caught up with some of us ex-services (even with 4 days training). All was done safely!. The Longmoor Guys have a lot of good plans for next courses (e.g. extra qualifications,e tc) and are really helpful with regards to referrals, advice, etc.

For a few people looking for courses:

- Quality above ££ is wise
- 100% passrates are rubbish
- check credentials, I know of some companies claiming sia accreditation, yet the MD has never held a license, not frontline, nor non-frontline.
- The better courses have been mentioned in many posts.

Simple: would you believe the story of someone sat next to you on the tube? Check reference and credibility of courses you would consider doing, think of them as second hand cars sales men. ;-)

PSD Training within the National Security College are Direct Claim approved by City & Guilds, current average time from online exam, end of course to delivery of Certificates Parts 1 & 2 to the candidates FRONT DOOR by registered post is, dare I say it....... 7 days!!!!! START to FINISH

The City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection, being a 2 part course;

Part 1, the online exam. Done onsite, at the college, results, instantly.
Part 2, the practical assessments, done during the course, marked and completed during the course and results uploaded to City & Guilds day after the course finishes, IF candidate completes them.

What does this all mean???
NSC & PSD Training don't have to wait for external verification, we have direct claim for certificates, so we're quicker, simple!

Hope this helps..
