Hello all,
I am a new member to the forum and my first posting is all about asking you to help me with my academic research - sorry! Towards the end of this year the SIA are going to review the CPO training standards for their re- licensing process and therefore, I have chosen this subject for my distance-learning dissertation (as part of my BSc (Hons) Risk and Security with Portsmouth University. Besides my desire to obtain the qualification, I have two alternative reasons for selecting Close Protection. Firstly, I have spent the last 16-years employed within the 'body-guarding' world (almost exclusively within the British military police) but more importantly I genuinely want to see what your views on the standard of training required to become an elite security professional in the UK. Can I please ask you to take 30-mins to ‘click’ through my survey? I am more interested in your opinion on the core skills required to be a CPO rather than your experiences of working in the UK. The skills of a CPO are the same world over, however we are all extremely aware of how the threat dictates our day-to-day activities. I’m struggling to get the response I need really and I am hoping that this posting will help. The best thing anyone can do is to log-on and fill in the survey. I really want to get a broad response so my analysis means something. This will then help inform the SIA for the next generation of CPOs. Feel free to encourage any of your mates to join in.
I’ve just managed to work out how to use the ‘posting’ process as I was having difficulty before. Now I need to catch up on the other strings and see where I can help out. All the best Frank |
