Am out with Marcus (Morrigan) in Serbia next week doing a firearms course. I will PM you on my return with my thoughts and also write a review on here too.
I must say that so far I have been dead impressed with the contacts and information I have been given and in addition the flights with Ryanair were only £80 ish return. I am on a budget like most others with kids so have shopped around as best I can and Morrigan have arranged the course around my needs and current experience.
Ring them, ask them. They will tailor something for you. Will let you know when I get back.

cpt291,
I have been in Iraq now since October 2003, the skills Mark Kendrick taught on my Phoenix course in September 2003 are the reason I am alive today, the anticipation position he taught, the response he taught and the training he delivered worked for me.
Conditional response cannot be underestimated and that is a personal condition, I enjoy driving, I have a chauffeur company in London, driving is part of my life – it isn’t everyone’s priority or preferred skill set.
I have subsequently taught my local national security drivers (11) the skills and drills required for the job, they work in Iraq, in soft cars and in 2 car configurations, the skills Mark taught me are the skills I subsequently taught them and to date they have served us well. No other media organisation covers Baghdad like we do with Western journalists, to me this is enough proof that those skills and drills work.
I have no axe to grind or no cross to bear – I am merely stating, what I have been taught, what I have taught & what has worked time and time again. We are not high profile; we are not aggressive gun yielding security configurations. To date our operation and relevant missions have been conducted without incident and to a rate in excess of 10 missions a day. I can’t find any other way of expressing my personal opinion to the lessons I have been taught by Mark at Bespoke.

I totally accept the point you are making and I am glad that the training you have recieved has kept you alive. Nobody can dispute what you are saying. I suppose I was trying to make the point that. Over the last 5 years I would bet that things you have been taught have been adapted and modified to take into account the ever changing threat that you face in Iraq. Something you have done with experience of operating in difficult situations.

I would argue that if you had chosen a training company who has instructors with this experience you would have been better prepared for such operations and the lessons taught to you would have been adapted specifically for the environment you work and from real time experiences. I would echo this for your drivers back at home also.

I have come across Mark and rate him highly as a defensive driving instructor, among the best ,as I do John Lyon of HPC. His evasive work, I have to say, could be improved on for the reasons above.

Speak to the Rmp Cpu guys for example in Iraq, I bet they have different ideas on doing things

For my tuppence worth have a look and perhaps speak to The Longmoor Group.

Their instructors have all operated in Hostile Environments, have extensive CP experience and their Driving Cse is based around that taught to CP Operators at the Rmp Cpu at Longmoor. Their instructors are Class 1 Police Advanced Drivers with the added benefit of having anti ambush skills and real life experience on top of the qualification. It includes everything that has been mentioned in previous threads on here and a bit more.

As for firearms, I've mentioned this before but, their course is second to none. Run abroad, in Europe, it caters for the totally inexperienced individual, through to the ex-mil type who has handled weapons for years. It is not limited by ammunition (as some are) and teaches dual weapons (pistol and rifle) skills. The shoots are based around those taught to the RMP CPO's.

To give you an idea of drills, have a look at the 'Picture Gallery', under UK pictures...

Neil

Nieljordan.....

Im curious mate when you say the Longmoors course (excellent) is not limited by ammo amounts, how do you suppose that works? there has to be a limit surely....!! ther may be no exact count on rnds used but its a business after all and its a significant cost.

We at Morrigan are constantly negotiating the cost of ammo with our suppliers and are limited with our course prices accordingly.
