The only ACCREDITED anti-hijack course I know is the Abavus one in Essex. Costs £595
Two great days on the airfield with a 1:3 instructor ratio. Successfully complete it and you get an NVQ level 2. See : Abavus Limited

So I wish to enlist your help in finding a good Tactical / Advanced /Defensive driving course within the UK if possible but not ruling out international, preferably geared for conflict zones as well as lower risk CP activities.

Also, A good firearms course that would be suitable for a civilian background individual who is likely to be posted to a high conflict zone, so including small arms and assault rifle.

Thanks for any help and advice guys and gals.

Andy,

I did my driving and weapons with Ronin SA and it was a fairly descent course. They usually do the full Psd package but I am sure that they would allow someone to just do the course sections that they want. The vehicle course is on a fast car driving range although I have to admit that more driving would have been prefered and you also do the skid pan which was beneficial. The ranges include introductory weapons such as shotguns and automatic weapons with the main range package being the CYZ. You do their version of a kill house then shooting stationary, vehicle mobile and foot mobile.
Overall it was a descent course but more important I did not have to do one course in UK (driving) then have to go to another country to do the weapons training.

I hope this was beneficial and of some help

UKBG99,

The cose you mention is not the only accredited driving course. Longmoor Group have worked had to produce an accredited course through Aset, giving you a national award. This is the same for our firearms.

Griff. Your comments fill me with concern that about "Hollywood driving," that style of driving has no place in the industry and many people have worked hard to get away form that. If the course has given you that impression then have failed you. Further more J-turns are no longer taught, the reason for this that car is not under control during the turn. There is a much safer method that is now taught that maintains car control throughout. I know this method is taught to the PMS drivers at Longmoor.
