ok so to my understanding i need to have a level 3 certificate in CP to become SIA registered. i have seen 2 courses recommended by SIA. these are the BTEC level 3 certificate in CP which is on the Edexcel Board or the C&G level 3 certificates in CP on the City & Guilds board.

i just wanted to know which one you woud recommend

are there any preferred places to take these courses (note i live in Warwickshire) i am wiling to travel if it is a must.

also any handy websites that i can use for a bit of research would be handy

thanks anyhow.

i have done the full city and guilds course and the online accredited learning modules for the btec the both courses cover the same things as the modules are requirements stipulated by the sia. as to which course just search the internet but you will probably be better in the long run going with one of the bigger companies but remember cheaper isnt always best

The SIA badge is just a badge it doesnt matter who you get it off as most companies dont find you work thats down to you and how good you are at networking

Edexcel, City and Guilds and Bucks New University are just awarding bodies. Training companies have to be accreditted by one of the above to deliver level 3 CP courses that will then allow you to gain an SIA CP Badge.

Look at these training providers for CP

Ronin SA
Anubis
Greymans
DSG
Nemesis
Longmoor
Wilplan

No training provider can promise you CP work, be beware any that state this and ask for evidence of this.
