Hi,

I've been looking around for some different training courses to become a close protection officer and I came across a company called Risk Contained Limited. Has anyone had any experience with them and there training courses?
Here's a link to their website:

SIA Close Protection Operations : Regulatory / SIA Qualifications : Risks Contained - what we do

Cheers

Hi Matt,
Ever thought about going over the big pond to the USA and trying out Trojan Securities International. Its run by a Brit who has a wealth of experince in the CP world and certainly knows how to bring it over. The courses he offers are also up to the requirements of SIA Regs. Once the courses have been completed he has a contact in the UK under the name of Goose CP, which you can find in the internet, saying that try Goose CP anyway.

Goose CP looks like a good course, is it easy enough to get employment on completion of the courses?

Matt,

It's not what you know it's who you know mate these days. Once you have completed your course it's a case of just sending your CV off to as many companies as you can and just hope for the best. But dont forget one basic course in CP will not always be enough, do as many course as you can, always try and be ahead off the rest thats the only way.

Risk Contained is owned by two ex Royal Navy guys who have been in the close protection circle for over ten years now. They mostly trained door supervisors orginally then venue security, i know the MD personally and he was ex hampshire police trainer. Have not seen him for some years though but heard he was going into close protection training, i can not therefore give an opinion on the training provided.

Nemesis Group ran an excellent course really informative and instructors had proven knowledge (Ken Connor longest serving 22 SAS soldier for example) a mixture of Ex SAS, Police, RMP CP and the unarmed combat phase taken by Tom Beardsley who is also the current instructor for UKSF a good course would definatly recommend.

fbg, I have to be neutral now....Greymans is a good course though, as is Nemesis, Anubis, DSG/Goose and Ronin South Africa.

There are a few, that in my personal opinion I would not touch if I were a student. I probably can't name them as I'd be sued...
