Rehman,

As a firearms instructor then don't bother. Like an MOT Certificate once you walk of the range your certificate is next to useless. If you go on to a job that requires firearms training then you will have to do their trade tests, e.g. Department of Defense or Department of State (Both tests are different and neither recognises the other). The only sure way of achieving firearms training and competance is via the MoD or other such establishment. Soldiers do APWTs etc which shows core competance. Hope you find this useful?

If youre applying for jobs where you must wear a weapon, you have to have the training.
I have never even heard of guys sending their CVs in and applyed for CP tasks in high risk zones and dont have a tactical firearms course (Never heard of it)

If you hold a document /certification/diploma etc either from Morrigan, Eidel, Heimrisks, Trojan, BW, or anyone..
Its a certification that you attended and have weapon skills, even if they are poor you have hold a weapon and can operate it.
The contracting companies dont ask so much Ive noticed whom you trained with, if they dont recognise the training provider.
But if they see a diploma and a referense its 110% more chans of getting information to the recruiter.

If the training provider have the experience, with armed work, and have previously taught either military, police or security operatives weapon tactics I say you most likely will get a good weapon knowledge. All teach diffrently, All teach safety, stands, tactical shooting, and the standing, kneeling and prone positions (variations)
If they also add speed, stoppages, tactical equipment, stress environment, climate etc..
Then its more advanced and professional I say.

To shot a weapon inside a warm facillity, whit sandwiches and hot drinks is nice..
But you need to shoot from a moving vehicle under stress!!!
You need to operate the weapon if your carrying a college, etc..
Scenarios for the real incident or attack that is the only lawful defense (internationally) when operating a pistol.

Can your training provider do that for you?
Do youre instructors have armed experience from Close Protection? convoy, Psd in Iraq or Afghanistan? Or anywhere?
In Sweden close protection operatives and protection security officers (guarding embassys, military facilities but is no military personnel) are working armed!

I believe the majority of the weapon trainers on this site is of a very high caliber, but just because you havent heard of a company in Norway, Poland , Sweden or Germany etc..
Dosent mean yore not going to get the best training there is..

in fact they might be even far greater then you thought.

again my private thoughts,
hawk
