Hello all

I am trying to find out what the average costs of course are for sia approved courses.

I am not looking for AAR's (After action reports" or course opinions, simply, length and cost and if accoms was not included, please mention.

I am much obliged to anyone that can assist.

My understanding is for 150hrs it ranges between 2500 Pounds and 3000 Pounds...right?

This is an interesting example of two seperate markets existing in parallel within one sector.

The £2,500-£3,500 courses are predominantly aimed at the people coming out of the military with access to resettlement packages, and the prices reflect those packages.

The course that we offer is aimed at the people having to fund their own training (though obviously there are people funding their own courses on the higher priced programmes as well).

As always, the consumer has the right to choose, but as I am sure that a lot of people on this forum have pointed out, the fact that you pay more money doesn't necessarily mean that you get a better product!

Our course is priced at £1600.00 excluding VAT and accomodation, the reason for this low cost is that we are an operational company aswell and running training courses ensures we have a constant pool of blokes to draw from. We are accredited by Bucks New University (one of few) and recognised by Skills for Security.

We cannot guarantee employment but have offered a high percentage of our students work. Courses do vary in price and it is un-professional to assume why they do although as someone has stated a lot of prices still hover around the military funding price mark?? If for example you were looking to complete a hostile environments course then you would expect to pay more as it would be held abroad and the training would be a little more specific.
