Hi guys!
Could you give a hand here... I've seen so many things that I'm starting to be confused. I need to do a CP course, probably going to a high risk country. What in your opinnion would be a good course that prepares you well enough?? Thanks. |

PSD Training | Close Protection Training | Bodyguard Training | Executive Security | Executive Protection| Bodyguard Protection | Specialist Security Training | Iraq PSD |for Iraq Afghanistan High Risk Close Protection Training UK, US, South Africa, have a look, I have heard good things about it. Take care.

Agree about Psd Training; if thats the type of work you want to do? You don't say. If it HE work then PSD are a great UK based company or Ronin SA in South Africa. I know someone who has trained with each company, and the feedback isgreat.
If its less HE, then you might be better spending your hard earnd with another firm; of which there are many advertised on here. Longmoor, Clearwater, Meido etc, as diferent companies train in diferant ways; no point training for HE if all your work is coing to be UK based. |

Rupert - who is it you know that's bee on our course? Also, Ronin.SA do not actually conduct HR courses, Ronin UK do.......
You just about recommended most "known" CP trainers in your post, no offense intended, but I would only recommend a course I'd been on and had first hand knowledge about. Again no offense intended..... AB Psd Training |

Hi mate,
Have personally dealt with Regal and Morrigan Solutions so can give you the thumbs up for these guys. Regal is run by Brummie Lees who has a vast knowledge, experience and understanding of the industry especially on the HE front and has struck a working relationship with Morrigan Solutions who are based in Serbia and have fantastic facilities for weapons training and the like. There are, as the thread suggests, lots of courses available to you and as the previous post suggests take the advice of people who have actually done those courses. My advice to you is pick up the phone and do your homework, speak to the course provider directly and make your own conscious decision as to which one suits you. Do not just follow what you read on here as there are certain groups who only 'big up' one provider without even having done the course. PPPPPP!!!! Good luck |

I agreed with the prev post mentioning you because I have heard first hand that it is a good course, and as such Psd Trg are on my list of courses I am considering. As for who it was who told me; not best persec if I flash his name up here. But take the recomendation on the chin; surely its a good thing, word of mouth is the best form of marketing! I listed the other companies, as I think I said, as examples of other training providers that receive recular consitent good feedback. Sure there are others, many other, in just the same way as some specialies in HE or Low Risk, some are ex mil only and others not, some train to gain sia CPO status others not. The original post did not specify what type of course or background, so I mentioned those that receive the most regular good reports. I can only conclude that in reading between the lines you are saying my reply is not valid because I haven't done your course; or maybe you are making an asumption about my own background and skill? Either way, still no offence taken. I have worked in security for a number of years, owned my own security company and am SIA licensed DS (because I had to be for work) with experiance in DS, manned guarding, event security and some CP, prior to the SIA regs. I have also done a CP course in Europe as well as being a trained remote area medic; I'm now looking at doing an SIA approved CP course myself and based on recomendation your course is one of the ones I am considering - maybe training providers need a little more apreciation of the decission process prior to selecting a course; there is a lot to consider not just the quality of the instructors and course contents, particularly as the cost can be anything from £2.5k to £5k. It is a big decision to spend that money for most, hence why people ask questions such as the one that started this thread. These questions might get asked a lot, but there are a lot of potential trainees who all want their minds put at ease before they commit to spending the cash. Take the recomendation for what it is; a recomendation. |

PJA - I would have a look at Longmoor Group, I know some of the guys who have worked with owners in the company and they rate them highly. If I was training again that is where I'd go. they have a good name amongst all of the big security companies.

Ronin UK is a very good alternative. Run by ex SAS, in a casual but highly pro way, no regrets: done it and got me a Psd pos in iraq.
