I've done some IBA courses, and some of the instructors they use are very professional and a very good at what they do, and what they teach.

It has been said elsewhere on this site that just because you do a course, you may not be receptive to training, on some IBA courses I've met guys that were very switched on and I would have no hesitation in working with them anywhere, on the other hand, I've met guys that have spent many thousands of pounds, hundreds of hours in training, and I wouldn't feel comfortable if they were walking my dog, they kept going on the courses and the organisation was happy to keep taking their money, knowing they would have very little chance of "making it" so to speak.

That's not say that IBA trained guys are on the whole, bad, just that some are, and I suspect they would be bad regardless of where they were trained.

Hi guys

** Following the threat of legal action from the International Bodyguard Association ( IBP ) stating "defamatory remarks" - parts of this post have been removed. **

I am a great believer that many men can attend any course even a lesser one and depending on how switched on that individual is , will depend on how he adjusts, retrains himself and adapts to the drills of those around him... so therefore a switched on guy can do a course and still be a good operator , even if he didn't learn those skills during his training.

We only ever had one guy with an IPA badge......Never again!!!!!

There is probably a huge amount of really good guys out there with IPA credentials, but, as they say "once bitten twice shy"

I understand the "once bitten, twice shy", but would you refuse to employ someone with IBA badge on that basis alone?

I've done IBA courses, I've also done other courses from other training providers, such as iss training, a training provider that is very highly regarded on this forum, so would I be unemployable because I've done an IBA course?
