OK, going to pose a question here, out of all of the accredited CP courses for the sia CP License, ie: City & Guilds, Edexcel, BCUC, which one is the hardest to pass.

Reason for this, we've now had a few guys through our courses, that already have their licenses and we, the training team have all sat and pondered "how the hell he passed someone elses course........................"

It's my personal honest opinion that the City & Guilds exam, is the hardest, or most difficult to pass, but that's just my opinion.

Most, if not all of you, probably haven't take a rivel exam/course, having done one or the other........ but in my opinion, I'll say THAT AGAIN, IN MY OPINION, those training companies offering BCUC, Edexcel must have some kind of pass/fail....... cos the guys we've now had through shouldn't be holding a TV license let alone, a CP license.................

Our City & Guilds level 3 CP course for the SIA means the person NOT ONLY has to pass the online exam set by C&G they have to pass OUR course too, including al of the practicals etc etc......

Sometimes standards are set and maintained, sometimes they're excelled!

Various reasons I guess, being offered a free slot........ wanting not to rest on their laurels, keeping their skill sets up to date, refreshing their CV........

Lot's of people seem to think, have license, no need to train........ if that was the case, there would be a lot more dead PSD's/CPO's around the world.... thankfully a few don't think that way.....................

We use the City & Guilds GOLA system ourselves, we like the system & so do the students, especially when they get their results as soon as they press enter.

More importantly it also limits the ability for less scrupulous companies to alter papers or to do "assisted" marking (the Panorama episode) as they are randomly generated exam papers.

Again it is going to be a bone of contention within the industry, who is the better accrediting body, but until everything is standardised we will only have our opinion.

James, that's why we like it...... no-one can cheat, no-one can be accussed of it, but that's only the exam................ practicals and everything else involved provides a better course and a better operator at the end, we wont put our names/reps to anyone who doesnt match up.

mate, you knocked the nail on the head, but unfortunatly when you have companies that will cheat on the written, they wont give a dead rats ass about practical exams/assessments.

scary thought, next time we run a course, do you want to come & do our practical assessments? (that should get people calling me stupid)

If we're not busy on our own stuff, I'll bring the team up..... I'm sure the Scots Mafia would enjoy a few days out!

Like your style, but we wont be sharing a warm shower in the wee hours of the morning at any point in the future.
