Hi Guys, regarding the HSE not allowing FAAW courses outside the UK, if there is a concern about meeting sia licensing criteria. Recently the SIA have agreed that other First Aid qualifications could be recognised as meeting the criteria for licensing. These other qualifications have to be 'mapped' to the First Person On Scene (FPOS) qualification assessment criteria. So it would appear that FA qualifications from outside the UK could meet SIA criteria. This is quite a step forward, as we all recognised the previous SIA criteria limited the FA qualifications that could be recognised for licensing. Training providers must make sure their FA course maps to FPOS, if they are providing training for SIA licensing.
Good luck to Regal and Morrigan

FPOS is all well and good if carrying around the gases and defib kit; as limiting as it is the FAAW is the better option in my humble opinion. What the HSE need to do is stop being so anal about the delivery of such a basic qualification.

Though in recent times they have gotten rid of the 28 day notice thing which is a godsend!

PM inbound Alan

*edit* cancel that, Ill email you instead if it works or wait until you get PM privileges up.

Thanks to both parties for this offer and great comms to date, no hassle at all in booking the course or admin re flights etc

I am missing out the first few days because of other commitments and being medically sort of capable , am due out at the weekend.

Just wanted to post some positive feedback on the efforts made by brummie and Morrigan.

Stay safe guys and guyettes

Hallo lads, quick one.

We are at end of course and bombarded with a lot of info from Brummie. Not only one that are required from SIA, I mean with real info on jobs and contacts that bring jobs.

Right real picture is that we have a f.. lot of practical staff, we do all practical things in Novi Sad and that is great!!! After finishing Surveillance task we are on recconn for our next big move!!

Sorry to say that course end is next week and their is no spare places!!!!!!

It was absolutely our please Goodspy..... the team jelled realy well and overcame some initial 'difficulties' with real professionalism. It was (and i am sure i speak on behalf of the rest of the staff) extremely satisfying to have people like yourselves take a leap of faith and come over to us.

Without doubt it was one of the best groups we have ever had the opportunity to assist with training and the quality of graduates is a testament to the positive attitudes and teamwork you all displayed.

Thank you and we hope to see you all again.
