neiljordan will become famous soon enough
Apologies if this has already been posted as a topic elsewhere but, I've heard this week that the sia are to introduce a new CP licence for the HE in the new year.

As a frontline licence holder already and someone who is employed to work around the world in various HE's, I'm keen to find out more.

Does anyone know anymore about this? What will the additional cost be, there will be an additional cost because it'll be a completely new qualification.

The current frontline licence is the accepted qualification for standardised work in the UK, with departments like the FCO insisting that their contractors abroad, like CRG and Armor Gp employ personnel holding this licence to show a level of training has been achieved. How will the new licence differ I wonder? The HE generally means the CPO is armed, how will this aspect be taught/assessed within the UK boundry's, when we can no longer fire weapons privately on ranges?

If anyone on the site can shed light on this then please post it for all to see. If the SIA are monitoring CP World a 'heads up' would be appreciated, especially where the training objectives to be completed are concerend.

For those on this site, like me, who have just found out about this new qualification...stand by to shell out more hard earned money and wait even longer for the licence to pop through the letter box.

Finally before any one says 'but there's nothing on the SIA Site', I know, I looked before I posted the thread. This course was mentioned in a direct telephone call to the SIA about another matter and although I have the information 3rd hand my 'source' (a colleague) is 99.9% reliable. It is apparently being put together as I write with a view to becoming 'live' in the next 12 months...watch this space.

Just spotted a typo, too late to edit post.

The above should read "I can't believe it...hang on, is it April 1st....No. FFS

Looking forward to the mess that would cause if it became reality...not."

Roadhog will become famous soon enough
For the firearms assessment either they'll use either Airsoft, paintball.... or knowing the sia give everyone sticks and require them to shout bang, bang...

Of course its a stealth tax Licensing any profession, and I mean licensing someone who has done a job for many many years is another form of tax and an easy way to keep track of the population. To make a point in Belfast to get your PSV to drive a taxi you had to go through a security check, nothing wrong with that, then some wise guy in government had an idea lets charge for the PSV which was actually a license badge and do away with the security check then anyone can be a taxi driver and hey presto ! the government coffers fill up with taxi drivers money they are struggling hard trying to implement the sia licencing for the security sector in Belfast just because of our last 35 years history, but its only a matter of time.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of jurisdiction does the sia hold on HE? Unless you are referring to Brixton, Hackney, Mosside and other nice areas of the countryside... They could implement that rule to UK contractors, but then they wouldn't be hiring any foreigns... Doesn't sound like they can implement it...
