I am a first aid instructor amongst other things and have been looking into the above named courses, as part of my research to find more local work. No going back to the pit involved! I'm struggling to find enough companies that require instructors to validate the cost and time. Been stung before paying big fees for courses that have little pay back. Any info on where to look for recruiters etc? Should also ask, does the amount of level 2 requirements outway the supply of instructors at the mo?
PS, i have good contacts for 1st aid instructors and assessors if you need the work CM, only it doesnt tend to fill the calender. Best if your located near or inside the m25. Ade |

Apparently they have done away with the 7302 and it is now a 7303 which gives you the instructors qualification. Hunt around as prices vary significantly.

Quick update on IFL: there is a requirement for all instr's to be registred as per the 2007 regulations -All teachers working within FE colleges must register by 31st of March as set out in the regulations. And all colleagues working in the wider learning and skills sector outside FE colleges must register by 30th September (this concerns us!)
The second point is that AID trg - V good company from experience. Has asked if the 7302 needs an upgrade and the response was ""There is no need to upgrade your qualification - 7302 has been considered by Standards Verification UK (SVUK), the regulatory arm of the relevant Skills Sector Council, and deemed to have sufficiently covered the requirements of 7303." I have not yet discovered whether the 7302 carries the same weight in unit credits for advancing onto the 7404. (Not needed for sia approval) but a good qual for those in a broader field. |

if you want enough to allow you to teach, it is the 7303, this is the minimum level C & G expect, there a lot of companies who will put you through 7303, FAI & 1886 in a 6 day period! to do FAI you do need an in date first aid at work cert prior to going on the course!

I woul;d be very wary of a 6 day course that gives all 3 quals. 1886 is 3 day with a lot of external prep. 7303 is prop one of the most intense 5 day courses going. FAI should include a recap and then demonstrations and TPs of an FAW. Cant see that being less than 4 days.
A level 3 qual is an A level equivilant. A lot of work and effort to achieve. |
