Ladies and gents,
I've organised an interview with a current recruiter for a very large and reputable CP company based in London but has operatives deployed world wide. This lad is an old Rmp CP mate of mine and moved into recruiting some time ago. Hes doing me a favour and has asked for his ID to be withheld which is of course not a problem with me. If you therefore have any questions you want me to ask then please post them below and ill then compile them and arrange for the answers to be posted in the near future. Do you have any really niggling questions you want to ask a recruiter but have never had the chance, if so then list them below folks. Reagrds, CM Thread will be closed in 7 days troops. Hello Im still serving in the military at the moment, due out shortly and will have to start posting out my CV. I asume that a covering letter is quite important because it could or is one of the first points of contact between the employee and the employer. What kind of information would you expect, or want to see in that covering letter, also which format. Any help or advice would be of help to myself. Lastly is there anything you would not want to see, as far as I can tell most of the detail is contained in the CV itself. Again Thanks Vick

Apologies should have narrowed it down a bit, a covering letter aimed at a large company with vacancies for CP work in either Afghan or Iraq.

What catches the recruiters eye in a cv today? What i want to say is most of us are ex mil or former leo. Most spend at least one tour in the middle east or other high risk environments (Northern Ireland,Kosove etc.)and i guess by now 90% are cp/psd trained and have some medical training of some sort...and many got lots of more tricks in the back so to say..so what qualifications are the most sought for these days?
regards CB |

Well where do I start. Im finding it difficult to get anything CP wise at all.Not having CP ex is a big down fall, would you say thats a big problem? My CV I think is pretty good and my covering letters are ok. Just trying to get that toe never mind foot in the door is extremely difficult. Rst or CP would be good. Any pointers would be much appreciated.
