Hello lads,

Im curently serving in the british army, but looking at getting into the world of convoy protection and CP.
Can anyone point me in the right direction!

For convoy protection then potentially your local cemetry! Some companies doing this work are less than proffessional and give you the bare minimum. A few others aren't too bad.

Convoy work is probably the most dangerous work you can do, have a serious think about going down that road, pardon the pun. If you have kids i would bin the idea.

PSD, can be just as dangerous except you are in a smaller formation and not relying on local drivers slowing you down for the insurgents/criminals. I did PSD for 3 years but no more!

Agree with co. Stay away from convoy protection, unless of course you are single, no friends, no parents, and really desperate to get into a company. As i have said before, you will have to take rough with the smooth and getting work whenevr you can is a must. obviously not silly work. My advice is don't turn down work if you think its not going to do your street cred any good. The more you say no the more they will turn you down in the future. Get a course done, get a licence, get some contacts and you will be on your way. Good luck!!

total agreement with the boys, convoys are a good money earner if you are an adrenaline junky with no dependents and a working knowledge of the Koran!!

Do the course, get a licence, and then network like mad. There are a lot of guys / girls doing this already, so you have to put the effort in. UK work for 95% of CP related work is seasonal, but you can make your money up by getting in with a few decent security companies doing event and door work, don't be a job snob as you never know what things will lead to.

Can you recomend any UK based trainning cources, as a starting point prefferebly driving orientated?
