Stay on at school, get a language under your belt and try and get into university......do I sound like a parent. Stick at the education and work hard for the next few years!

well I already had my eyes set on the army RMP, i've had information on it, but would you think that is a good choice for security after i leave whatever, i know its my decision at the end of the day just getting as much information as possible, it'll benefit me at the end of the day.

It depends whether you want to earn £30.000 a year or £100.000 a year in the future. My new boss is 36 and is Regional Director for a Risk Management Company, and he probably earns £200,000 a year. He is not ex forces he is a graduate.
Something to think about. |

Yeah thats what im thinking go college, join the army, it seems a great life and i might regret it. But i have other people like my family etc, telling me uni is the way, and thats a better life. I just don't know what to do, whether security management is boring or not, or overall a great job, what do you do now ronan?

Gazza
Why not do both!! Join the Army and study at the same time. After basic training has finished i have no doubt that you will have plenty of spare time (Except when on tour) to distance study. Instead of going out boozing/playing playstation, get your head in the books knuckle down and get some decent quals. It will be hard as the peer pressure will be immense for you to socialise, as thats what the army does best!! A little bit of careful time management and you will be on your way. Bucks and Chilterns run a certificate in Protective Security Management, St Andrews run a course in Terrorism studies, and i am sure there are plenty of other courses out there. All the best ss20 |
