Hi my names Darren did nearly 7 years in the army, got out in 2001 been doing plumbing and gas since then, now single and decided that plumbing isn't really for me, looking to go into cp work, have been recommended (Ronin SA) course by a few friends, has anyone been on the course and would share there views on it. Not looking to work in uk more overseas in high risk areas

i did the course in 2006, i think it was worth every penny the medical side is very good ,im still plumbing at the moment as i dont have any relivant hostile experiance, but every job ive had was because i was a ronin student, i would recomend it to anyone, the instructers are great,and tim smith is a very clever man ,you wont regret it darren ,but they dont really teach anything about hostile enviroments,but if you have had experiance before then your ok, anything else you need to know drop me pm and i will try to help you out darren

Cheers dogbomb and covert munkey for your messages, I dare say ill send you a message dogbomb when im looking to do the course, hopefully looking around sept time, give me chance to get my fitness up to scratch again and sort out my own comitments.

darren i was 45 when i did my course and hadnt been in a gym for years mate,so its not that bad you have to do as many sit ups ,press ups and pull up as you can ,you get a minute for each one yhe more you do the more points you get,plus you run from one rock to the other (about 30 feet apart) as many times as possible in a minute, then a short run (about 5km) which is timed,so unless you have a injury you should be ok we arrived in cape town on the sat morning thinking our course started on the monday with the phisical test so we went down to pirates bar sat night and got leggless till about 4 in the morning,it was a surprise when they got us up at 8 sunday morning to do the phisical,needless to say alot of the lads ended up on their knees throwing up,i couldnt even do any pull ups due to a hand injury and i passed with 71%,not bad as i classed myself as really unfit,so dont worry about too much mate

Cheers dogbomb will remember that, im not that unfit anyway, but good to know about the pt on the sunday morning, as i know the lads always like a drink on a night out were ever they go.
