Q. Do you represent a company?
A. no Q. What area's in the Security Industry are you interested in? A. cp, Door Supervision, law enforcement Q. What do you hope to get from the forum? A. advice, contacts, courses and networking. Q. Tell our members something about yourself? A. this is as weird as it gets. i originally applied to join law enforcement or army, but somehow ended up becoming a criminal lawyer for a decade. My law firm just closed and I'm bored stiffless of paperwork now, so looking for a change and new challenge. some police officer friends suggested I go into law enforcement, but that process takes at least 8 months, so i've decided to look into freelance security work aswell in the meantime. no army or police history - just spasmodic martial arts background over 2 decades. Hi mate,
Firstly welcome to cpw and an excellent site for networking. I must say you have a good cv and change of career must be a challenge...... (I know the feeling) Btw, On Nov 8th there is a an offical cpw function in London where top cp'o and training providers are attending... Its free to come but just have to pay for a buffet £10... There will be guest speaker aswell so it be good. If you are free it be a good networking opportunatey for you.... Otherwise good luck and I shall see you around. Read the older threads, there will be other people that have asked some of the questions that you have, about the industry, course and course providers, etc. Also if you can't find the answer then just ask even if you think it's bone, can assure you that others will be wanting to ask the same question. Thanks for the warm replies all, including the heads up on the forthcoming function in london.
Will try to find further details about it asap. Starting my sia course tomorrow to get the ball rolling. Also, came across an old friend who is starting up his own security firm end of year, so is happy to train/work with me for CP work as thats in their list of things they already do. As for brave soul, not so gung ho - will still keep a foot in each world, until things get rolling proper. Let the networking begin
