24/7 Many thanks for interest and comments. They are of course appreciated.

We have been established for the better part of 8 months. When i say we are new to the circuit, i mean we are on the eve of breaking into the UK market.

As we are not a training provider i cannot foresee a conflict of interest with the aforementioned "Trojan" based companies. When we first set up shop in Jersey, our registration was solely made within the Jersey Undertakings Sector so no comparison has ever been drawn between ourselves and any other approved contractor.

Now that we intend to create a profile within mainland UK, as you rightly stated, there is the potential for a disaster with regards to successfully marketing our services but as im sure you are aware CP is an industry kept afloat through networking and presence, i.e. the quality of our work shall make the differance between the comments you suggested and recomendation for contracts.

Again, many thanks for the comments; all taken on board.

Stay safe.

Nice one mate. Feel free to send the CV. Be aware that it it is possible to apply and work for a period with a License Dispensation Number (LDN) on the premise that you have an application in the pipeline. I would send a PM but i have to write 5 posts first apparently!

Take care, stay safe.

Do you have contact info for the aforementioned company in Liverpool? Or any further details on nature of its business?

Quick one 24/7.

Are you badged? I see that you are loc. in Germany. I have been speaking at length to the sia with regards to CPO's from in...or out of the EU and the guidelines for working in GB. It would seem regardless of the length of contract, all must be BTEC lvl 3 and hold badge. That, despite the money, has the potential to hold an operator back 2-3 months over a busy period before they can legally operate allowing a client to go elsewhere!

I understand fully the law surrounding the Private Security Act, however i fail to see why it can effectively stop us from operating??

Sorry to say it TrojanSecurityLtd, but that is correct, not just operators from the EU, but 'home grown', very experienced and qualfied people who in some cases are having to wait up to 6 months before a 'Badge' is granted. To be blunt, whether you fail to see how it can prevent unlicensed people working in the Industry or not, that is the law.And any one who does so takes a very serious risk. Like it or not the sia Licence is a statutory requirement!

Take care and regards,

Kenpsd.

I apologise, i dont think i am making myself clear. It is not a case of operating unlicensed and i do understand the law, however Jersey, as an offshore asset of the UK, does not fall under the Private Security Act, nor does an operator or contracter have to register with the sia to work within the industry.
My question with regards to the 'badge' is because for us to undertake in any work on the mainland, we would need to either apply for a license per man, which would involve individual training at great cost or hire a CPO already licensed and located within the UK.
As opposed to if i take a contract in France or Spain per se, or the majority of the world for that matter.

Ah, right, I apologise too as I did not clarify what you meant and what you meant is now clearer. I take the point you are making and you are correct in what you say.
As you will see from a lot of posts on here, almost without exception potential employers are seeking people who are already 'badged' because as you rightly point out, if you have to factor in the costs of training and the delay in obtaining the badge, in my case over 6 months, it makes more sense financially not to seek contracts in the UK.
Just as an aside, most of the Brit Companies on Brit Contracts in the 'pit' also require operators to have the sia License.

I also find that incredible. All the work i undertook in the pit was via a former US company. Pay was in dollars and i was exempt from tax as i was out of the island for more than 180 days a year. Not once did my life affect the UK or the SIA!
To be fair, what good will UK Law do for any Psd Operator away from Blighty if he gets in the s**t? Whether that be the Gulf or the moon. Yet it still manages to hinder our progress.
There is a definate need for a statuatory law to be in place to control the cowboys and Walters, however like everything in life, a little common sense needs to be applied i think.
Right, thats my rant done! This forum is great but it doesnt half get in the way of work!
Thanks for the input mate.
Take care, stay safe.
