Is it best not to get passport stamped when visitin Isreal??
Does anyone know about procedures when visiting UAE contries. If when you get your passport stamped after visiting Isreal, can you still gain access to any other UAE country?
This was brought up in a conversation today. I was told not to get mine stamped if I visited the country - Isreal. Working or training, as it would be hard to get into any other UAE country, especially within the security industry. Not sure if its correct or if this has ever been the case, or if it was, has it changed?
When you enter Isreal you can request for your passport not to get stamped for work purposes, it's worth doing and saves a lot of hassle in other countries.
You might get an 'interview' by the Isreali boarder control, I've found it not to be a problem.
Other option worth considering: 2nd passport, always handy.
And ot answer your question directly: it could be hard to enter ANY Middle Eastern Country with an Isreali stamp in your passport, not impossible, but harder and sometimes it can mean anything from: visas get delayed, not validated or revoced.
I agree with Sunny, a 2nd passport is the best option if your travelling around the Middle East, I had problems in Iraq getting a DOD card after having worked in Lebannon. It is best to have 1 as US friendly countires and 1 as the rest of the world.
You dont have to lose one, you can write and get dispensation to hold 2 passports if you explain you are constantly travelling to countries where visas can take weeks to apply for etc etc..
The second passport it the best option. You can apply for a second if you can show reason why you need two; this being a prime example. I hold two, but had to have an "interview" at the isuing office, in my case at the time Liverpool. Doubt most imigrant have the same rigmarole, but is was just a formality even though a pain in the sphincter, and isued none the less.
I got a normal passport form from the Post Office, filled it in as much as possible; which wasn't much. Name, address, passport number etc, left the rest, and put a covering note saying I needed a second passport, then they contacted me in writing to take if further.
I worked in Israel and have an Israeli stamp and visa in my passport. i transit through Dubai, and have not had any problems, as well as entering Iraq and afghan with no dramas either.
Several contractors that have come to me in Israel request an external entry visa - not in their passport and this has for the most part not been a problem.
Andy_M, love the avitar! All I can say is "wibble"!
Thanks to everyone for some good advice, It looks like I may need 4 then as I will be getting a NZ passport as well so same rules apply to both I guess
