"The mother of crippled paratrooper Ben Parkinson hit out after an Iraqi teenager was paid £2million for being left paralysed by a stray British bullet.
Diane Dernie, whose son was awarded only £285,000 despite losing both his legs in an Afghan landmine blast, said there is one rule for British troops and another for Iraqi civilians......................." What can I say...........Absolute Fucking Bollocks. The 'Yellow Card' used to be bad enough but this is an insult!!!!!!!! Brown and his cronies are nothing more than spineless, apologetic parasites whose attitude to Britain if nothing less than Treason. Old 'Maggie' may not have been perfect but at least she had balls. £2m for shot Iraqi boy, just £285,000 for a crippled Para | the Daily Mail |

Maggie was the best man the british military ever had. She had more bollocks than half the CGS's
Brown & his cronies need to realise they are employees of the country & employees can be sacked! |

It is sickening to think that our guys can get only a tenth of what we gave to this iraqi.
Don't get me wrong, it was a shite thing to happen to the boy, admittidly caused by negligence on a brits part, but to insult our troops by imposing a ceiling on the amount they will get paid for injuries sustained is disgusting. It pisses me off that the powers that be will pay out based on only the most serious injury sustained and not look at all of the injuries as a whole when compensating. They are out there taking the risks and the government don't seem to be looking out for them whilst they are out there by equiping them with the best gear etc, so lets at least look after them when they get injured. The system is all fecked up. Makes me sooooo angry. Yet again this useless Government shows just what they think of our Soldiers. Interesting old article on compensation for armed forces. Ok, its the guardian so has to be taken with a pinch of salt but some interesting points nevertheless:MoD to pay more for worst war injuries | Politics | The Guardian |
