Dear forum members
I am a person with many balls in the air specially between jobs. And I have been creating forums such as the IBA forum (only for members) training operatives from basic to advance levels, selling equipment its just I burn for the security industry. I have subscribed to several security magazines both national and international and for us normal people individuals (small company owners) job seekers etc..their isent much. Normaly the magazines tell you about the bank in your country getting the new alarm system, or who the new director is for this and that company.. I think you guys get the picture. Alot of friends mainly in Scandinavia with interest in the global security industry on their own levels has asked me to assist and create a new security magazine ( on the internet) we have combat & survival magazine who mainly describe the military side. But we want to go further to describe Police, security companies , private security individuals around the world and their look on jobs , industry etc.. There are other magazines such as only descibe the weapons, new tests etc.. Magazines descibe 4x4 vehicles.. we want to collect the best from all... Example: News could be Follow a Training Provider during a course, with interviews of the participants, instructors with photos etc.. Being a Psd medic in Afghanistan or Iraq.. His/her way during a day in ex Baghdad.. Working the doors in Ireland.. Test of bodyarmor new equipment on the market a job listening in the 5 parts of the world A company directorate/ listing where companies can advertise under right source such as : Surveillance equipment and A Danish company etc.. Under CP Training Providers etc.. Companies can also advertise by month with banners to help support the work all the internet people are doing.. All of you must understand this is a huge work and it will not be any competion to any forum...its the same as subscribe to a security magazine that drops in your post box, but this will be in your computer instead.. So it will be a normal cost for each subscriber of a normal magazine that is somewhere between 30-45£ a year.. In the begining we will also need help from active people for stories, pics, and if someone have the possibility to maybe do a small interview with a training provider, company or Police force, Military unit etc.. For people handing out material that will be published will be given a free subscription until it growes and later if its more coming we will be giving a small free lance payment this will be like 0-maximum 100£ but everything depends on interest and demand in the growth. I wonder if this is something that would be of interest I can promisse it will be about ex A day with Texas Swat, or follow the Nordic battle groups training before deployment to Afghanistan. Working the doors in Norway etc.. But we will not start this huge work unless there is a huge support and a genuin interest. Advice , help is much appreciated Looking forward to hear from all members here... hawk |

Hi Hawk,
I put this down to English not beng your first language so I ignore idiom and look the relevant points instead. Don't want to pee on your strawberry's, but a subscription forum means you need to find money to pay you, your journalists and anyone else who contributes, besides web rent. Otherwise, it all looks a bit sharkish. I've been doing the photo's on a double-page spread in a UK national sports glossy, (EMAP magazines, web-search them for the scale of operations) circa 300,000 purchases per month, it only pays us 250 sterling each edition which we share between two of us. This takes up travel, consumables, on-site costs, photography and admin time at 80 words per minute. We provide our own wine when doing the actual writing. It is just about break-even, we only do it because we are interested/passionate/investing in our futures. Any less, we couldn't afford to do it. Careful how you recruit your contributors, you're going to be running a business and they will expect, at least, costs if not payment. After all, you will be making money yourself. |

No probl, Iam not the one writing its 8 people working on it incase this delivers?
They do webdesign and have 5 security shops on the internet, used to do this.. Its no huge cost involved since the guys have accepted payment if it comes to life.. The writers are fully aware of that we cant pay, and we already have several police officers, un personnel, and atleast 20 guys who served in Iraq that want to share there life with others (if we remove some confidential info) All people that will be interviewed have to write a acceptance of being published. The writer must also understand that only a free subscription will be possible as payment during the first year. Then it will be an agreement before publishing material between the magazine and the story provider.. We have to see so far its 99% positive and 1 neg.. thanks anyway for your cautions..I will think of it hard before starting this up. hawk |
