Airbourne,
You may have found them not very interested a couple of months ago but you have just been told that they are looking for guys again.
I am not having a go at you in person but this comes up all the time with guys that say they are new to the industry, asking how they go about it.
Try and find out names of people in the companies and their email addresses, contact them and then follow it up with a phone call or even a visit if you can.
When someone puts something on the site as "they are looking "make a new effort to contact them.
Call once a week if ness to all companies that you have on your list, if no list make one.
Guys will help you, but please show them that you read what they say otherwise they wil think that you cannot carry out simple tasks.
Read the thread with regards to the Dubai office for work in the UK, it is the best place to start if new, there are other companies about just keep on looking and do not get down in the mouth over it, one knock back move on and then call them back a week later.

Airborne

I'm deploying to Afghan within the week with Armor, i am new to industry myself but have managed to get several interviews with companies such as Armor,CRG,Olive,Aegis.
Just kept sending my CV out with covering letter. Get them out to those companies and likes of Saladin, Hart, Britam, AKE, Edinburgh international as many companies as possible.
Keep pluging away. I also know CRG have postions coming up soon (next few months in Iraq) dependent on passing there HECPO cse.

hi mate thanks for your interest in helping me. i am 24 , served 6 yrs british army. i am looking to take up full time permenant contract in CP work in iraq or afghanistan or anywhere hostile . back in 2004 in southern iraq i worked with erinys contractors gaurding oil plants which was a good incite into private security. i have not yet completed a cp course due to the fact that whilst in the army i was lead to believe my experience of 3 operational tours of iraq and 1 7 month tour of afghanistan was sufficient enough to deploy as a cp team member in either country.

Mate first thing to do is get an sia license. The companies are clamping down. On Armor Group FCO contract in Afghan you need SIA license the same with CRG, soon all the British companies working out there will want you to have it.
Plus if your doing Psd work you need CP training its not something you can just pick up mate. Not to sure on Convoy work in Iraq but i know some lads doing it and they all have SIA license.
Mate i did my Course with Nemesis Group good course have a look at there website. Plus Ronin (South Africa),RoninConcepts, all good training providers.
I went with Nemesis mainly due to instructors one them being Ken Connor(of SAS fame) and Tom Beardsley(Instructor to UKSF on unarmed combat).
