Hey all,

Just to introduce my self former para reg and been on the Circuit since 03, been out in the pit and also worked in London before the sia came in! Got my level 2 and looking to dip my feet back in to the CP world. I'm looking to do a course, just looked at Ronin concepts. Has anyone got any feedback on these or any good ones that anyone can recommend?

Cheers

Hello mate, they do a good course i know a couple of lads that have just finished the last course in April

I was going to do it myself however due to the army changing the rule on courses, i now have to do the closest one to my workplace at ITC C so that i use my accommodation rather than claiming 56 a day. I now have to do the new course at Darlington college catterick.

4 pay days left and i cant wait to get away from the boll*cks and peent pinching.

good luck mate

john who runs ronin, is a great trainer, and good guy, course is all round v well tailored

sadly i cant say the same about the other trainer on the course (wont name).
Who decided to treat me like a piece of shit, and pile on pressure and bullshit on to me, despite the fact i performed very well throughout the course (even with a broken toe, caused by the hotels own staff). I complained to john that this bullshit had got alittle bit personal, and sadly someone i should respect, i wanted to knock out. He handled it v well, and aplogized to me, saying this certainly wasnt what he expected from one of his trainers. Everyone else on the course had noticed. My report was very good, because i had performed well.
I felt on the final day that after being taken to one side by said trainer and given the most amount of crap i ve ever heard that i couldnt go to prague, even though i d paid for it. Had i gone i wouldnt have performed well, and frankly there would have been a problem with this guy.

other than a sympathetic ear from john, i ve had fuck all in terms of contact regarding either giving me back my 1k or putting me on another prague trip. Well next step, is my old man (owns his own law company) so i can play that game all day.

I paid 4k for all of this.

feel free to get in touch privately and i ll fill you in.

Sexy Beast (can't keep a straight face and type that! lol)

Can you confirm that you are talking about the Ronin in South Africa as you and others may be getting your wires crossed here.

Theres Ronin in SA Ronin Protective and Paramedical Services
and Ronin in Hereford Ronin Concepts Limited: Welcome - Ronin Concepts Limited is a British security company specialising in broad spectrum security strategies and training.

The two aren't connected in anyway as you'll see on the SA's web site.

I have no experience of the Hereford based one so can't comment. However everything I've ever heard about the South Africa based Ronin is positive. They have a good solid reputation in the industry and they only charge £4600, only £600 more than the UK based one but that £4.6k includes flights to Cape Town and accommodation. Also the medical portion of the course looks very good.

Hope that helps.
Regards
Paul.

Havent got wires crossed but I know what you mean though, so many blokes Ive spoken to get the two confused.

Ive been researching CP for the last 2 years and correct me if Im wrong, Ronin SA appears to be the best course out there for prep to go to the pit. especially for hands on medic side of the course.

If you are after UK work though there are several equally good companies delivering the mandatory 150hrs training required to get your sia qual.

Happy hunting

The SA boys have an excellent reputation amongst employers,

which is what counts, they wouldnt have that rep without delivering first class training to their students.

Lads...!! Lets get it straight...!!! I posted on this earlier on in the week and got slated (by a tosser) but f.uck it - I'll go again..!! I've graduated from Ronin SA. They are not in any way linked to Ronin Concepts.

The course is absolutely fantastic. From every course I've ever done - military or civvy - it is THE best. Others might have their opinions - cool. This is mine - you won't find a course offering this all in one package. Even my OC who was 20 years in the Infantry said he never did a better structured course.

I have a few tips for you though - ones I can't post here! PM me and I'll let you know.

Jim (jdo) I can tell you that it's a high end course - specifically designed for commercial BG work. Timm Smith has designed the package - to suit the commercial industry. Having looked after Queen Elizabeth II, Mandella and many others - he's probably one of the best there is. Soldiers don't need this course for the soldiering - it's a civvy course - we need it for the qualification. Why travel to SA for a City & Guilds qualification...??? Well, even the British Army recognise the course - they pay resettlement to Ronin SA for the boys. What you will get is the certificates but what you really get is the knowledge and expertise of a dedicated man and his professional team (ex British and SA Military) - far and above what you will expect.

Ask questions!!!!

All the best, Andy.

Hey lads,

Didn't mean to cause a dust up.... To settle the dispute 'Ronin concepts' not the one in S.A! I have been out in the pit and I want to try commercial CP I have got my level 2 sia but it restricts me to certain jobs (RST) so im going to do a CP course, but which one as their are many out their but I noticed on 'ronin concepts' is the med package which is swinging me.
