Hello Everyone

I currently have 11 months left in the Army and am interested in CP work as a second career.
As some ex army members on this website might know, resettlement advice on the subject of CP course's is toss.

Lad's and lass's who have been in the army and are now happily working in the CP industry, I'm really after some sensible advice on which CPO course may be the right one to undertake and whats the likely chance of working straight after completing the course.

So any advice and guidence on CPO course's and resettlement from you ex army would really be appreciated.

Many Thanks and stay safe all of you

Kev Foxton.

Kev

Have a look at Longmoor Group - Security, Close Protection Services, Courses & Training we had a number of ex military guys on the last course and some have written emails in commenting on the course, you can see them on our site. I have few more to post over the next few days. Some are members here and I would be happy to give you their details so you can PM them. The comments they have made speak for themselves.

Good luck in choosing mate.

Kev, I like you are just coming to the end of my career in the Army and have come of me CP course with Longmoor Group, I cannot sing there praises highly enough, they were professional, safe and extremely good at what they do (Before you ask, no I am not on their staff or pay books). They are fully conversant with the Military Ressetlement process as the company has Ex foces (RMP CP) running it. I would advise that you give them a ring (Web link is in the CP World Forum), they will give you a breakdown of all the costs in a way that your pay office cannot mess it up when you see about putting in your ressetlement claims.

If you need any further info on them then just PM me and I will happily answer any questions.

Regards

Si

Brummie Lees at Regal will set you straight mate. He is exmil been there and done that and is no BS. Just back from deployment himself so the advise he gives is relevant to the outside world and not just a classroom environment. You will get a lot more for your money along with good contacts and introductions to employers (providing you are of the right calibre of course) Regal Security Training | Close Protection Training

I said it the other day to someone else looking for this advice. Take a long hard look at Longmoor Gp, check out their testimonials and who has written them and then look at others. They have an Rmp CP background, this in itself speaks volumes, so much so it has gotten up peoples noses on this site before now but, quality and operational experience both in the ME and around the other hostile environments of the world cannot be argued with.
Their weapons, driving and general CP trg is delivered in a calm but professional manner; ensures drills are taught correctly and are remembered by the student.
Remember it's the training background that a lot of companies will look at and there are those companies on this site who 'suggest' that there will be work offered if you do their course and complete it to the right level/standard - what is the right standard? How many have completed the course and been employed? What proof is there, who are they working for?
Longmoor promise nothing more than good, solid training, from people with experience that dates back well before 2003 and from a backgound before that, that has learnt its trade over the last 35yrs and continues to lead the way where CP is concerned.

Like everyone else on here, this is just my view, for what it's worth. I have no connection with Longmoor as a company but I know their background. Your money will be wisely spent if you spend it with them.

Neil

I echo Neil's comments above and have just read their testimonials. The testimonials are superb and some are from experienced CPOs.

I have heard excellent reports from guys who have done the course and looking at the background of the company they have bags of experience in CP. Not just left the army, done a tour in the pit and started training people.

If my source tells me correctly the MD at Longmoor was an ex Rmp Cpu instructor after many CP tours. Neil, is that true?

As I said the guys running the course and the company do so with a wealth of experience as both operators and instructors from the CP Unit. The latest testimonial post, from an ex-RAF NCO, says it all.
They are the preferred choice for the FCO in certain areas (due to their background) and in others, have made themselves the preferred choice because of reputation and recommendation.
Doing this course as a step in to the industry will be money well spent!

Neil

PS: Am I really doing this for free, I need to start charging for this sort of write up!
