hi guy`s hope you are all well and safe. had a few dramas at home so havent been about for a bit. Anyway my personal funds are low due to a few not needed out goings. does anyone know of any jobs in iraq/afghanistan where i do not need a CP licence. my plans are to get onto a job a then fund a cp course this way. i know all of us are in the same boat and have lots of competition. help is as always apriciated as we are all working men earning a living. i am happy to try anything op`s room work, running vehicals and driving etc. my main aim is to eventually get my cp course done and then hope to progress to convoy/psd details in hostile enviroments. many thanks all take care.

Airborne,

Most if not all Companies operating in Afghan or Iraq require you to have done some form of CP/PSD course, the only way you'd get work in any of these theatres is to get a course under your belt. The days of companies hiring "Guns" have long gone. Sorry to be the Harbinger of bad news mate. How long have you been out of the Paras???

Airborne,

Unfortunately, thats the way it is now. If you have any intelligence / medic experience you might be able to get in on one of those positions! Some companies run their own CP course, with the option of paying the balance once 'in -country'!!! But to give you an idea of what you may be up against - I've done a course & got my licence, I worked for one of the big companies in Iraq for 2 years, the last year as a TL. I came back to UK for a while when I looked at returning with the same company, I was told I would have to complete a hostile environment course - which I would have to pay for!!!! So it appears that 2 years experience in Iraq has nothing on a 4 course in the UK!!!!

Apart from that good luck!!!!!
