an excellent suggestion and one that has surfaced even in the manned guarding industry time and again.

The reference to the divers situation is not entirely valid as commercial divers are a necessity for commercial applications to function. Many UK CP positions are thankfully available due to the clients excess wealth rather than the inherent need. When times get tough ( recession) the security industry as a whole suffers.

Yes,..we urgently need somehow to set higher pay rates in the industry in general for skilled operators and thse that are on potentially high risk jobs. Until we all stick together it won't happen.
