Hello Everyone,
Has anyone heard of a CPO training company called Anubis? If so can anyone provide good or bad feedback on the training package they provide. You may be wondering why I am asking... New Army resettlement rules state that any soldier who is leaving the forces and wishes to become a CPO may use his resettlement entitlements to train with this company and this company ONLY!!!!!!! "Why?" I asked them. Answer: It`s cheaper and a new rule requires localised training, with military accom due to high accom costs during courses. Catterick RRC told me that Anubis are the only company who are a part of the Armed forces career tranisition partnership scheme. I find this very doubtful... Thanks, Kev. |

Mate,
I know that this is bull...t..!! I've been through this with a few mates of mine and you have the right to spend the money on whichever company you like - you've earned it. It turned out a few resettlement officers had vested interests in the 'only' company allowed to accept the cash. My suggestion is, go to the resettlement officer and if he/she is not forthcoming then request an audience with the Colonel. Hope this helps, Choooooooo, Andy. |

Mate,
I agree with andy, you have earned the right to do the course with who you want & if you get no joy, push higher up the chain. This is the second time ppl have mentioned having problems with Catterick resettlement centre James Mc |

James,
You're right - it is the same Catterick Centre. I wonder is the Officer on a wee back hander..??? Mnnnn, interesting! Andy. P.S. Maybe some of the companies here could shed some light - it could be YOUR cash and development on the line..! It doesn't even seem legal...! Last edited by andynorris; 02-08-2008 at 03:05 PM. Andy,
The biggest problem with a lot of these resettlement officers is the fact they're about 103 years old, they think the money is theirs & WE should be bloody grateful to THEM for allowing us to get what we've earned. Sad Bastards James Mc |

Might have changed now but when I went through the process you could spend the money on any course you wanted up to the entitled limit. However, might have changed since I left two years ago.
However, on the plus side I have heard good things about Anubis. Run a good consultants course as well apparently. But surely if you wanted to go out to Iraq/Afghan then the Anubis course is geared towrds non-hostile work as far as I know so therefore you should be able to argue the point that you need to do a HECPO orientated course with firearms and the like? If not you could maybe do the Anubis course and then use ELC to pay for a firearms course?-just a thought. |
