Ex SAS/SF's input needed by a novelist

Hi,

We are writing a exciting novel about UK/USA special forces and global terrorism, (with an exciting and novel twist" involving the SAS and Delta Force,

We require an ex SF's person to help us put the "meat on the bones" and give input, insight and contribution, to the realism of the story. The type of weapons and "toys" that are used and carried.

Obviously we are not going to breach the Offical Secrets Act, personal details about any previous, ongoing or future ops.

We expect the book to be published spring next year, and there is a 90% chance it will be made into a film in 2010.

We expect that we will have the 1st manuscript available in 4 weeks.

At this point we will release this to you, and ask for editing the relevant points. Estimated time required will be about 20/40 hours of contribution

We will pay with royalties, and acreditation, all done legally and above board.

A certain percentage of the profits from the book and screen will be donated to UK armed forces Charities.

All correspondence from both sides will be held in extreme confidence, and we expect the "plot" of the story to be held in confidence. Until general public release.

Very strange, request for inside info on SF. One thing though, if you are serious and have done your 'homework' properly, you will have noted that you need to make 5 posts on the site before the PM facility is available! Or did you think that you could just get guys to open up on here, I can think of a few who would, like the one I recently met who HALO'd into BIAP in 2003 but now sadly cannot run more than 100 metres without oxygen, he has a large amount of meat on his bones!!
I doubt you will get many takers, my suggestion is that you get in touch with Andy McNabb, he has vast experience of story telling. Failing that go to any public house in Britain and you will find a guy in the corner who was on the 'balcony' in 1980! BTW can you get Brad Pitt to play one of the SF guys, he has a great and authentic Irish accent!!

As I wrote we are not looking for people to breach any opps, this is pure fiction, we asking for what is in total public domain is correct

Just do what everyone else does and make it up. Alot of people have already so jump on the band wagon but i think your a little late. As for a film get your head down mate. As a post says on here just go to ur local bar im sure someone will spin you a story.

we are not asking for alot, only that what we do write is factual and correct, we are not asking anyone to contribute to the story.

i am tired of reading SF books that are just sensationalised crap...

Back to 'Andy Mcnabb' again!! Seriously though mate, I really think you are on a 'hiding to nothing' on here making such a request. We are a naturally suspicious bunch, not suggesting for one moment that you are being less than honest......but......the words investigative and journalist don't go as well together as 'Walter' and 'Mitty' Sensationalised crap? how could you, I have seen all of the Rambo films, couldn't fault them, just like the real thing.....especially the 'stitching' sequence in First Blood....I do it all the time, even when I am not wounded!
