Chief Security Officer - to £90k + car allowance + bens We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Security officer to work for a major Defence organisation based in South East UK. Ideal candidates will have current HMG security clearance to SC level. You will be responsible for all elements of Programme Security, establishing and maintaining effective working liaisons between programme and authority. You will direct all aspects of Communications, Operational Security and Change Management. This is a three-pronged role whose components are the following: -IT Security - you will have a solid understanding of IT security and be able to confidently hold your own with security accreditors/partners/CLAS consultants -Man Management - candidates must have substantial experience of managing a team in a highly pressurised environment. You will also be responsible for managing and motivating business partners to act immediately on occasions to avoid a negative impact on other workstreams. -Personal and Physical security You will ensure critical Information Security Management systems are managed effectively, and implement and review security policy documents. You will manage the Programme Security team and define and implement security processes, ensuring compliance with the manual of protective Security and ISO17799 and ISO27001. Candidates must have a proven track level at a high level of leading large and complex security programmes. A degree in information security management or similar is highly advantageous. You will be an innovative and proactive problem solver, resilient and able to operate effectively unders pressure and project constraints, displaying sound judgement at all times. Any experience working with the Home office/ government systems is highly advantageous, but for the right candidate this is not absolutely essential. Ideally you will have experience of working within budgets. An excellent salary is on offer of £75 – 90k with some excellent benefits including car allowance This is a highly demanding role that will be most rewarding for a highly motivated person with the right level of experience. It is not a 'nine to five' role. Good general knowledge of Systems Architecture and ISO is most useful, and also any knowledge of MoPS (Manual of Protective Security) You will be based in excellent premises in Middlesex, South East England. There will be occasional travel so a UK driving licence is essential. Ideal candidates will have current UK MoD Security Clearance - those who are not cleared will be considered as long as they are eligible. You must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years in order to be eligible for clearance at this level. Previous clearance is advantageous.
