Not 100% sure on that one but it is a government type set up i suppose, and it is picture ID, which can be verified quite easily i suppose so possibly. Have a look at the sia website and see, might be there possibly

Sorry ryan,

As far as i'm aware, the sia badge is not officially recognised as a form of ID.
Passport, Driving Licence, MOD ID cards & Birth Certificates are the only ones I know of that are recognised.

But that said, it depends what its for.

Not sure if it counts the same as a passport or driving licence but I was stopped and politely requested not to use the roads as a race track at 3 am by 2 of our finest boys in blue with no driving licence.

As I'd just finished work I had my DS badge and they took it as proof when they checked the PNC for registered owner of the vehicle.

And all I got was don't do it again! so result!
