physical restraint training for Door Supervisors

Hi all,

My name is Keith Butchard & I run my own training company - Response Training Services, specialising in physical intervention, conflict management and personal safety. I have been working in the Security industry for the last 10 years in different ares including Manned Guarding, Events, Retail, Door Supervision. As well as being a trainer I work as a Senior Detainee Custody Officer on contract to UK Immigration to carry out overseas removals of people on deportation / removal orders. I also currently still work p/time as a door supervisor.

I deliver two types of restraint courses for security staff. The first one is the Btec level 2 intermediate award in physical restraint which is a 3 day course and covers: law in the regards of use of force, Human Rights Act, Children's legislation, Health and safety, risk of death or injury including positional asphyxia, effects of drugs and alcohol, edged weapon awareness, non harmful methods of control - escorting and holding techniques, more restrictive holds and distraction techniques - wrist locks, knee/shin strikes, chest strikes, breakaway and disengagement techniques and dynamic scenario training.
This course has been designed for all sectors that may have to use restraint. I also run a 2 day course which has the same modules and techniques from the Btec course but not the children s legislation. From May 2008 I will be running Btec level 2 award in Door Supervision, and hopefully by then I would of attended Andy Walkers APR instructors course and can then deliver the training. In October I will be flying to the US to attend Tony Blauers Personal Defense Readiness Coaches course, which is a reality based self defence system based on the body's natural response to fear and violence. Id start now on the events with show n event/rocksteady/showsec stay away from you sub companys like staffsmart
You can do events as a steward and then get on the doors when you badge comes in

i teach CR to many ppl such as door staff and care community it can be a minefeild with the law it can be hard to teach ppl somtimes i teach ethical cr to care staff and when i teach door staff i change the course to soot there needs
