After a number of enquiries, The first from LITTLEWOMAN on this site. We have updated a existing Door supervisors First aid course.
This course is designed to further enhance the skills of the HSE first aid at work certificate. We have included areas that have being specifically requested and feel this is a very useful addition to already existing skills.
We would run this training over two days or as a one day course for either the first aid or drug training.
Feel free to leave comments good or bad.

Violent casualty- What you can and cant do
Serious Injuries caused by glass
Stab injuries
Gunshot wounds
Control of severe bleeds with Haemostatic agents- Quickclot first responder
Use of Emergency Bandage- Self compressing wound dressing
Assessing a drunk and injured casualty.
Covering your arse!

Drug Awareness:

Medical implications of drug use.
Signs and symptoms of drug use.
Dealing with Drug casualties
Covering your arse!

Once we get an idea of numbers we can sort a couple of dates and location.
We are prepared to travel to your location to train but a minimum of 10 is required. Other than that we can arrange the venue etc.
We would be looking at the first dates being in May as we are booked up till then with training.

Regards and Stay safe

Hi guys,
As this is a bespoke course so the certification will be one of attendance. the certificate will indicate that the appropriate training has being given in the course subjects.
The costs of each course have being set as low as possible and in line with most HSE course.

The one day Door supervisors first aid course is £70 per person

The one day drugs awarness.first aid course is £65 per person.

If we can run both days together with enough people on both then we will do both days for £120.00. Minimum of 6 per course.

This training is developed to enhance the HSE first aid training you already have, covering topics that have being specified by working sia doorstaff.

Sounds good kev,

In my opinion HSE FAW is not adequate for most areas of work in the industry, more training to bolster the knowledge gained would be a good thing.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

As i have already stated this is training is to further enhance the HSE FAW training not replace it. This request for specific training came from operational doorstaff who are coming up against injuries and conditions not covered in the FAW course.

Excellent - Well done to you sir. I've been talking about getting something like this sorted out, so not just Doorsupervisors know what to do , but the management also understand what should be put done i.e a place of safety for one !

One that really does need to be addressed is the use of 'G' in all it's forms.
I had to deal with a lad last summer who had taken GBL on top of GHB,mixed with 'e' in unknown quantaty.
The brain had been so confused, he's left side (legs, arms & face) were non functional and the right side had gone into complete lock out. Trying to move his fingers at all would have broken them.
He's muscles were in such pain, due to the tightening up, It was like watching someone being torutued.
For the non strong stomached - this was quite a distressing sight.
Our amazing bodies do the best to repair it's self and will excrete the rubbish from the system through all areas, but these drugs cause to much conflicting information to the brain.

As a foot note - he was in a coma for 48hrs., Though, no telling how many brain cells have gone.

Without going into the re evaluation of the Drugs Act .. Ghb/gbl is very serious and should be up graded.

I take my hat off to ALL in the industry who are willing those who can't help themselves.

KTM,

I'm definately interested. Although I'm not a door supervisor or CP so it will depend if you let 'outsiders' turn up!! )

An excellent idea, to say the least - I'll be one of the many looking into this.

As just about everyone will agree: you can never know too much!
