If you ring Skills for Security on 08450750111 you can set up on your own as a freelance trainer or you can become a trainer for another company SfS will help you get your trainer numbers and take you through whatever is now required for registration

When did you pass your 7407?

If it was more than 5 years ago then you will need to sit the new 7303 strait away, if you have passed it within the last 5 years then you have 3 years from the date it was achieved to sit the 7303 but you will be able to use most of your 7407 and only need to do 7 new questions to gain the 7303 and this can be done using distance learning.

As said you then need to sit the city and guilds 1886 for deliverers of conflict management, This is a 3 day course and i recoment a company called aid training.

Although my background is mostly CP and Surveillance and not DS i would like to know Danimonio who you are and what your background is. It seems you have quite strong thoughts on DS?

Can you answer some of your critics or should i just boot you out now?

Isn't PTLL (Preparing To Teach in the Lifelong Lerning sector) the new qualification which replaces the old City and Guilds 7302 and 7303?

That was a terrible statement by Danimonio !!!!! obviously never looked after any doors before. Just how hard it can be, I've had an AK47 in my face just because ive knocked back some tracksuited paramilitary thug from my door, it can be that difficult on occassions.

Just a update on this thread. I have a working partner who has just completed his DS ticket, we are both medics but its just another string to the old bow. To quote my friend "it was the worst two ****ing days of my life".The contact time i believe is 30 hours. He barely did 25. the second day he didnt start till 10.30am and was back in his house in yorkshire for 2.30pm. Take out the numerous smoke breaks and it dropped even more.
The instruction was very poor, my friend holds several quals including conflict management and 7303 as well as a string of medical tickets.
The standard in the class was equally poor, one guy left after the first day due to vetting issues, another couldnt spell supervisor!. My friend got 100% on his written tests and others in the class where hardly topping 50%.
It seems that there are some very poor quality training set ups out there who have managed to circumvent the requirements of the SIA.
I have never worked the doors and tip my hat to anybody that does. When my friend asked about the minimum requirements of passing the course he was told "you`d have to be a real muppet to fail". Some on the course where there at the job centres request.
Apologies if i have deviated from the initial question but i thought it may be of use to highlight these issues.

KEVTHEMED I would suggest that you contact the Awarding Body or organisation that the trainer delivers through, i.e. BIIAB, NOCN, SFS, ASSET, etc, and tell them exactly how crap this guy was. As a professional trainer myself over many years I have come to hear many terrible tales of the humble door supervisor parting with their hard earned cash only to receive (alleged) training from a rip of merchant.

Do all of us proffessional trainers a favour and help us close these muppets down. We can only clean up the training sector if we get guys/girls coming foward to complain to the awarding body that the trainer delivers through.

What was the awarding body? and
Who was the trainer? Name and Location.

If you can help answer these two questions above you will be helping someone else from becoming a victim of these fraudsters.
