Is this not ('in some half witted way'), meant to be a response to recent arrests. Or is this a regular occuence, like the incidents that we hear of on here, the ones that don't get their deserved inches in the press.
The peace agreement is beginning to be torn to shreds.
And silence will not mend it.

The troubles have never stopped, you just dont hear about it on the UK national news until recently again.

I don't think thats true. The vast majority of youngsters dont want to be involved in sectarian violence, there is a minority who do and these people dont have the backing of their communities. Incidents are still going on daily however, its not in the public interest to report this.

Have you been to Northern Ireland recently, I live there, and every day on the local news there is an incident. It is slowly turning back to what it was like, the hoods are still there.

I have lived there yes, and I spoke to alot of people most of whom were very welcoming and enjoyed a 'normal life', without having being scared to go to Tesco because of their religion or leaning towards a group. Don't get me wrong there is a hard arse element of the population that think the 'cause' is still alive, despite the fact 'proper IRA men' have given up.

The current campaign will never pick up the same momentum it has had previously.

But hey thats just my opinion, we all know that politics and the dark side of the province will always be adhoc and corrupt.

I'm up there quite a lot (I live in the South) and see some things have progressed in the last few years, however a lot has not.

The border counties and areas like XMG, Forkhill etc are pretty much in a timewarp and feel like the peace process just passed them by, it's like nothing has changed apart from it being made easier for the baddies to operate now that the towers are all gone.

There's always incidents, you just don't hear about them.

Your right Heno, the people living out in the sticks are left largely alone, but thats not where the battle lies, the real winning is in the city estates.

I was there when the towers came down and all our powers removed and to be honest its was to much to soon.

1 or 2 of the terrorist organisations are now just a" front", for organised crime. Theres alot of money to be made in gun running, cannabis, extortion+protection,ect,ect. But saying that, theres still some "players",willing to plant bombs, or kill the british armed
forces, and their own PSNI for their misguided need to "FREE" NI from the hated british.
Nearly everyone in NI wants peace, the only people who dont want peace, are the people that are making alot of MONEY by keeping the "TROUBLES" alive.
