A landmine explosion targeting a bus killed at least eight people and injured 26 others on 13 March in Humera in the northwestern Tigray state, along the border with Eritrea and Sudan.

While no group has claimed responsibility for the blast, the government has accused Eritrea of organizing the attack.

In addition, authorities have alleged that many Eritreans, including military personnel, have crossed over into Ethiopia in recent days
