Gentlemen:

This week I attended a Point Blank Body Armor demonstration at a Police Range Training facility along with the members of local Federal and Municipal LE both Tactical and Patrol. The demo was very interesting, of all the demonstrations, 3 items demonstrated caught my attention that I would recommend Security Professional personnel take a serious look at, they were:

Thor Shield
Is a lightweight conductive material lining for Point Blank Body Armor carriers (Only) and provides protection against Conducted Energy Weapons such as the TASER M26 and X26. I can personally attest to its ability to prevent the wearer of this material, suffering from the effect's of a TASER. I placed a hand mitt made of this material over my hand, then drive stunned my hand both front and back with a X26 TASER. I didn't feel a thing...

Special Threat Plate (STP)
This is a stand alone, thin, semi rigid insert. Not only did it stand up to the advertised Special Threat ammunition, such as the Tokarev 7.62mm x 25 Steel Jacket (Czech) but also the Norinco 85gr FMJ variant also the Belgium 5.7mm x 28 Standard Round (SS196) the same plate withstood the .40 S&W Le Mas Ltd duty ammunition carried by some Police Dept, with Zero penetrations.

Level 3 Hard Armor Plate (Multiple Hit)
This Armor Plate is not only very light weight, but withstood multiple hits of 5.56mm, 55 gr (8+ shots), the same plate took 3 shots of 7.62mm NATO FMJ, at a distance of less than 25 feet, with no penetrations and little to no back face deformation on the clay backing. The price quoted is less than $500 USD a plate. The only bad thing I can say about the plate was the thickness, approx 1 inch thick.

As a reminder, I am not affiliated it any way to any manufacturer and get no financial benefit or remittance from them. I pass on this information openly as it may be of interest, and or use to the members of this forum.

Stay Safe
