ParamedicUk is on a distinguished road
There are loads of opportunities to achieve paramedic coming on line in the near future

Ronin in SA now run Tech and para accredited in the Uk. They are having to re-design the programme based on Uk HPC requirements, but the qualifications taken there are valid in the UK.

The British military is also now giving Civvy qualifications to its people!

Probably 10 years too late for most of us!

The IHCD offer an accreditation of prior learning process (APL) which means foreign trained EMTs and Paramedics can apply for accreditation of their qualifications. I know several people who have completed this route and gained the IHCD Paramedic award and state registration. Most were from South Africa where there is already a mapped pathway but several were from Australia, New Zealand and some from the USA.

The process involves finding an IHCD centre willing to support your application. You have to prepare a portfolio and map your qualifications against the IHCD outcomes. You then have to sit and pass the IHCD assessments (all of them!) for modules D, E, F, G, H, I and the new module J.

If you contact Alan Howson who is the IHCD awards manager, he should be able to give you more information. His email is alan.howson@edexcel.org.uk
