Hi everyone,
Hope this finds you well. As some of you know, I am in the final few days of putting together a TacMed book. The level is basic knowledge for CP operators in remote and hostile environments. Given the knowledge and experience on this forum, it'd be great if some of you could contribute if you are interested. The book basically focuses on the basic skills that really work and I have included anecdotes from my personal experience. i.e. a short overview of the situation, the injury and the treatment and then a short list of the lessons learnt (good and bad). If anyone feels they have any valuable lessons from the field, please feel free to pm them to me, along with your details and they will be considered for inclusion. Please include a seperate document with your details and experience, if you wish to be credited as a contributor to the book. Points to consider please: 1. It is basic level, written in laymans terms for CPOs 2. It's intended for remote & hostile areas 3. Anecdotes should be about one side of A4 or less 4. Should include lessons learnt from the action you took (what works & what doesn't) Any photos to accompany the article would be greatly appreciated, providing they are your own and you have the rights to them. If you wish them to be included, please write a short declaration to the effect that you have the rights to use them and you give permission for inclusion in the book. Many thanks in advance to all the medical ninjas out there and free copies will go to those whose stories appear in the book. All the best and stay safe M4MED |

Hi M4MED,
Very interesting thread. I currently have a lot to do with CRG on the med side of there CP training and have had quite a bit of input for them on other courses. I would be very interested in submitting a few things for you but would obviously like to know what areas are already covered in order to not repeat what, undoubtably will already be there? |

Hi Samson,
thanks for the post. Yes, the book will be for sale soon, with 10% of the profits going to help the heros Help for Heroes - A charity for the wounded in Britain’s current conflicts The book is to down to earth Tactical First Aid for CPOs, no deep medical jargon, just helpful advice for operators by operators. Will keep you updated Stay safe |

Wingnut,
many thanks for your reply, much appreciated. The overall response has been excellent. I will keep the forum updated on the progress of the book (almost complete) but if you'd like to contribute, please pm me with the details. I was going it alone but soon most of the medics on here will have added to it, which will be great for all of the other CPOs, as betwen us, there's a lot of first hand medical knowledge. Be great to get a text we all agree on. Is that possible in the medical world? Perhaps for 5 minutes!!! Stay safe and thanks again. |

Hi M4MED,
Have sent my 'ANT' story to you. Hope I get a credit in the book for it - its the one I save for when I am a 'Bush Doctor'. To all the others out there wanting to know what it is, lets hope TacMed put it in. And, yes it does work. Cheers. |
