Day Six - Final day Home on the Range

Well it’s the final day of the course. Our surveillance phase is done and we all did well which is a testament to our trainers. As usual I started the day surveying the world from my balcony at daft past stupid O’clock! It was actually 5 am and said goodbye to PJ and G who were off to catch their redeye flight back to the UK. After sunrise I headed down to the breakfast room again being the first one their so settled into the usual morning routine...

Day Six - Final Exercise

Another day in bovine paradise, bells and mountains on every turn. The sunrise this morning was quite something with crimson hues radiating from the edges of the mountains. It is one reason for getting up early if nothing else. Soon the light was increasing and the first shafts of sunlight tore across the valley majestically like the fingers of god. As the morning mist in the valley lifted, burnt away by the radiant shafts of sunlight I pondered the final day,...

Day Five - Foot & Mobile Surveillance

Day five is here and strangely it seems like I have lived here rather than just visited for a few days. The majestic mountains with well behaved snow on the mountain tops and the quiet little...

Day Four - Mobile & Foot Surveillance

Another pleasant morning greeted me while I surveyed the world from my balcony. I feel almost regal looking down on the world and reminds me of home where often I am having a cuppa on the deck, watching the people hurriedly going to and throw. There was definitely something in the air today though as the bells on the cows sounded like they were being worn by epileptic bovines or were they just having an impromptu rave in the fields! Maybe it...

Day Three - Mobile Surveillance

I think the adrenalin was still flowing from the previous days as I found myself up before dawn watching the sun rise over the mountains (one could never get bored with that view!). It was either that or jet lag, after all there is a twelve hour shift between where I live and here, or at least a bit of both! I must have looked an eager beaver arriving at the breakfast room ahead of everyone else. There again was a spread of breads and cheese and cereals...
