windymiller is on a distinguished road
Hi Guys and Girls

I left the Army in April and am having a crap time trying to get work on the circuit. I am CP trained and have completed a Ronin SA course as well to bring me up to speed with my medical skills. I am ex 156 Pro Coy by the way.
Having sent my CV and details to most of the major players out there, i am becoming a bit deflated with the response of "not enough experience"????

Can anyone put me on the right track or am i missing something. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Windymiller

Hi Windymiller,
You have to start at the bottom of the ladder and work your way up - thats the message. Accept anything you can get. If you show promise and willing, you will go far and onto other areas and quick. (Mind you, if you have a mate somewhere to get you in a CP team pronto - that always helps!). There is no other way .- .-.

Cheers Guys,

I have an sia licence and i'm not looking for a team leader position, but even some of the more lowly positions i have applied for have been no-go's. At this rate, i'll be manning an NCP car park haha.
Most of my mates are in Afghanistan at the moment, but having spent alot of time there myself, i am not keen to return to the Sand Pit.
I feel i am trained to quite a high standard already and make sure i keep on top of my skills and drills frequently.

Excuse my ignorance but what is an Rst job??

Thanks
Windymiller

Brother Rst is Residential Security Team start at that see what it brings, but also re train, make your cv stand out from the 100s the company will get weekly, dont stop at one course,as the market is flooded with top top operators,if your great with meds train in this field,if your a marksman,do a good course but you must choose your courses carefully get yourself certified stay safe ram out.

He says Ronin SA up above who are known to know their stuff. They are accredited for the UK qualification so the fella here certainly should know what an Rst is. Giving him the benefit of the doubt its unlikely that a common TLA such as RST is going to be forgotten.

Whats the score there Windy?

Reminds me of this guy who claimed to be ex-Regt. When asked which Squadron he was with, he replied "it's so long ago, I can't remember"...............!
