Yes, I should have said the police will deal with 99% of terrorism situations. SO13 is no longer in existance but CO19 are the preferred armed support to SO15.

Yes they require CC authority and many times they get it, especially when most county forces do not have the properly resourced manpower to deal with the incidents.

Sorry Rob you are wrong, the police deal with criminal and terrorist incidents in the UK as I say 99% of the time.

Furthermore terrorists are criminals!

I think the whole idea of having had 5-6 service has changed a bit... I know a few people just out of their probabtion who applied and got in to 19...

I know that long waiting times for courses and lack of OT's has reduced the number of people going into specialisms, even TSG...

Sorry co19 I tend to disagree. If there is another embassy seige by sus terrorist (as per the original question) I suspect the SF will do the final rapid intervention /hostage release, and not the police.
Terrorist are criminals ......but a terrorist has a totally different motive to that of a criminal. I would go into depth but havnt got the space.

i find myself agreeing anything as high ranking as embassy sieges would go down to SF.

Rob and Greek you obviously know better than me from doing many handover exercises and know the capabilities of police SFO teams etc so we will take it as you say.

A seige is a seige is a seige, its not the 1980s and lewis collins will not be the first call
