Talking Hi guys andyet more advice

Hi guys new bloke here
Lots of time in the job and lots of time CO19 just thought I add my two pennth' worth
CO19 recruit direct from the Met , skills such as shooting etc etc are taught you need to be a good street cop first and as many of the elequent replies have indicated thats really what Its all about.

Ive spoken in the past to serving and ex SF guys who have liked the idea of being able to use their skills in a Police role but sadly it doesnt work that way.
No offence but millitary of any standard does not, by default fit to the SFO role.
No more than I would survive 2 minutes in an SF role , its very much horses for courses.

All that being said its a great line of work and I admire your goals.
Determination is the key, I agree with a previous post, that if you do join the "Job" you will probabley find something else that takes your fancy.

In keeping with many many jobs of this type its often hours if not days of mind numbing boredom, waiting for the baddies (Who incidentally never attend the briefing and subsequently never do what you want them to do) ) together with secs of sheer adrenaline
However its all worth it
Anyway guys stay safe and be well

Incidently I found this on google from way back in 1993. My old team at the end but I was off that day. Some good old faces - Happy days.

Regards,
Steve

Ah yes the pots of yellow paint .
That cartoon that TL did is still in existence along with many many more that now decorate the 3rd floor.

If we wrote a book about the humour in the Dept I doubt it would sell a copy , No one would believe it .
We maybe a couple of hundred ALL ex SFO's
Let me know when your in the UK mate well get a few of the lads together and have a beer
