Dear All
Please can anyone help, I am about to apply for the CNC Police Service; however I have a few questions for those in the know. Firstly is the recruiting process the same as any other UK Police Force? And secondly the initial application pack does it vary from the normal Police one or are they the same? Thank's Ian |

Hi Guys,
Yes, the recruitment procedures are same as other constabularies/forces. The pack can be differ i.e. "Could You" website normally issues similar forms but recently I noticed the MDP have their own format of forms as they are national force. All assessment are same "PIRT" police initial recruitment test and you will receive similar details of the assessment. Let me know what stage you are in and private message (pm) me, if you need any help!! Good luck DH |

Very similar to home office recruitment packs, only thing different is you MAY have to fill in a loooong boring form called Developed Vetting, this is currently the highest non military security clearence in the UK, its very involved and your past employers, friends, relatives will all be checked out and most will be interviewed.
apart from that it is the same as anything else, when are you looking to join/transfer? if you require anything else its best in PM cheers dave |

yes absoloutely everything, you must remember that it is one of the highest security checks that non military personnel can get, dependant on the establishment you are working at it will give you unescorted access to documents/areas/information upto top secret, they obviously cant give this out to all and sundry.
there will be a loooong interview with a very experienced interviewer who WILL pick up on all things (if you get my meaning) they will also visit/contact previous workplaces, friends and ex colleagues (you need a couple of people who have known for 10 years or more) things they will check: obviously yourself and all your family history on all sides, your financial background, internet usage i.e websites visited, websites you subscribe to (all of them :-) ), your sexual orientation, your sexual activities, past countries visited, basically anything that can cause you embarrassment and leave you open to blackmail etc etc. the best advice i can give is be upfront and honest, fortunately I am embarrassed by nothing i have ever done and told them everything, what have you got to lose? if there is anything your unsure about matt and you dont want it out in a Open forum pm me and i can find out for you if you wish? what do you require dv clearence for? dave |
