i am hoping to apply for the MOD police next year and I was just wondering what my chances are of getting in? Do many people apply? Is the application/ selection process as unlikely to pass as the regular civ police?

i currently work in a gym so i guess this gives me some good experience of working with the public but im only young and dont have much in the way of experience so how would this affect my chances? any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated

cheers

I have in the past applied for both MDP and CNC; I understand from the bumf that MDP trainees do their 14 week training in Essex with the majority of graduates spending the vast amount of their 2year probationary period in Berks, after that there are over 100 establishments that you could be posted to with a view to putting in for a specialisation after this point.

As for the "normal" daity tasks; there is some info on this on their website which is quite handy.

TelfordWill, you ask if the process of application is as "unlikely" as cil pol, from my experiance yes it is. I have a number of family friends in county forces, two of whom are AFO and one contact in the MDP, from what I'm told and my experiance of applying as well as that of a friend who also failed to get past the paper sift I would say so. In each case, graduates with a few years work under their belts, clean CRB's and financial status; from my own point of view I had an overdraft withdrawn a number of years ago, but good credit/finance since. We both failed the paper sift.

The paper sift is the part that is out of your hands, fill the forms in as best you can and fingers crossed; then mug up on required reading, of which there are a few handy books on police enterance tests etc

Not getting in has given me the oportunity to persue other goals so I'm happy with that; all the best with your aps both of you.

I applied for police, got a rejection on the paper sift, the questions let me down. Used the feedback to apply to MoD police, got a yes 2 days after applying... very quick to reply! Took approx 2 months to get a no from regular police
